Liam is hat-trick hero

LIAM Farrell bagged himself a hat-trick as Town Juniors U14s hit seven goals in a super team performance.

The locals travelled the short distance to Tandragee Leisure Centre to take on Markethill Swifts and both teams took time to settle into the match - which made for real end to end football right from the off.

It was the Juniors who created the first few chances, and scored an early goal with Liam Farrell running onto a through a ball to finish cooly past the keeper on 11 minutes and open his account for the club.

With both teams still not settled, Markethill got an equaliser from a corner on 15 minutes.

The Juniors didn’t drop their heads and restored their lead with Liam Farrell getting his second goal on 20 minutes.

Markethill levelled the game again however on 28 minutes after a goal mouth scramble with the game starting to open up.

The Juniors had the final say of the first half with Owen Byrne scoring a superb solo effort to restore the Juniors’ lead.

Town started the second half in better form and got a fourth goal after three minutes when birthday boy Jake Dermott went one on one with the keeper and scored with an expert finish.

The Juniors played some great free flowing football and controlled the game creating more chances and it wasn’t long until they scored again when Owen Byrne got his second goal seven minutes into the half from a well worked indirect free kick.

The Juniors added a sixth goal with Liam Farrell completing his well deserved hat-trick on 26 minutes after a goalmouth scramble.

To compound Markethill’s misery they conceded an own goal in the dying minutes to leave the final score at 7-2.

This weeks man of the match was hat-trick hero Liam Farrell.
