The popular yearly tournament saw over 500 children aged between six and 12 years old take part in a series of matches over the course of the day.

After plenty of tackles, scrapes, scrums and tries, it was the Lisburn RFC team that were finally crowned the overall winners and got to lift the prized trophy.

Local supporters who attended the event were also treated to a fun-filled family day with plenty of activities to keep them entertained between matches, including face painting and ice cream.

TrustFord’s Regional Director for Northern Ireland, Mark Knapton, commended the local side on their big win:

“Big congratulations to Lisburn RFC on a much deserved victory,” he said.

“It was fantastic to see such a good turnout and a strong support for another successful year for the tournament.

“We love the opportunity to get out and meet our local community and this is a great way for us to do just that.

“It’s also a lot of fun for all of the kids involved, not to mention for their family and friends waving them on.”
