Lisburn fans at McIlory Tribute Night

MEMBERS of the Lisburn based Bobby McGregor Memorial Glentoran Supporters Club were recently invited to attend A Night with Jimmy McIlory in Burnley.

Dennis Addis said it was one of those nights 'you dream about' after mixing with players from Jimmy McIlroy's era at the special tribute night at Turf Moor.

Bertie Taylor reminded Jimmy of the good old early teenage years in Dunmurry and Lambeg with Artie Taylor, Billy McCartney and all the other young players who did not make it to the top.

When Jimmy McIlory learned of the visit by the Lisburn fans at the function he quickly joined them and had pictures taken with them.

They recalled Freddie Steadman who brought both Jimmy and Artie to the Oval.

The function attracted around 300 guests and the local group were full of praise for Veronica Simpson from Burnley for all the work she put in arranging their trip.
