Lisburn Gladiators slay the competition

MEMBERS of Lisburn Gladiators Fencing Club were celebrating recently as they achieved success at the British Youth Championships in Sheffield, where the club had a fantastic Championship.

Charlotte Slater won the U12 Girls Epee, following on from her win two years ago, as Charlotte became the first fencer from NI to be a double winner, and in different weapons having won foil in 2011.

The club eight fencers qualify to represent Northern Ireland across the age groups and three weapons, considering the club has only been going for just over three years this is a remarkable achievement for the club and its three volunteer coaches.
