Lisnagarvey hit double figures

LISNAGARVEY 10 RAPHOE 1

LISNAGARVEY Seconds entertained a below strength Raphoe side on Saturday and came away with a well deserved win and another three points. Indeed, such was Garvey’s attacking finesse, the Lisburn men were 3-0 ahead in the first four minutes with the game all but over.

The first two goals were well worked and came as a result of Garvey’s fast passing. Glen Whitten scored a neat reverse volley and Philip Stirling was clinical with the

second with a fine spin and shot. Rumour has it Davy will need to replace the backboard. The third goal was simply sublime by the rejuvenated Rob Cummins with a reverse shot into the far corner leaving the keeper with no chance.

Garvey kept the pressure on and scored another four thanks to goals from Whitten, Stirling and Cummins. Garvey were sloppy soon after and gave a goal away with Peter Bland putting the ball in his own nett. Garvey led 7-1 at the break. Garvey started the second half where they left off and scored another three goals with the pick of the bunch again from that man Cummins with yet another reverse into the roof of the nett.

Garvey were under no pressure in the second half but put in a disciplined display, moving the ball quickly and effectively. Garvey seconds look in formidable form on the run up to the Junior Cup.
