‘Liverpool visit’ to Showgrounds not yet confirmed

It has been reported in the Scottish media that Edinburgh side Hearts are also to take part in a tournament in Northern Ireland with the Showgrounds the stated venue.

However Ballymena Borough Council, were unable to confirm nor deny the rumours.

When the Times asked the council for confirmation of the tournament a spokesperson said that talks are ongoing in the background, however “nothing has been confirmed at the minute.”

It is believed the tournament is being organised by Irish League side Crusaders.
