Local athletes perform well in top class field

Fit N Running duo Mark McKinstry and Connor McQuillan were among the 164 starters in a high class field in Ballyclare on Saturday as host club East Antrim Harriers staged a superbly well organised and popular cross country event at six mile water.

Mark McKinstry produced his usual hard working level of performance to claim a top 10 finish crossing the line in 9th place in 26mins 55secs.

Sixteen year old Connor running in the senior male race produced a fine effort to finish in 29th place in 29mins 35 secs.

NUTRITION PLANS

Fit N Running are continuing their athlete development by introducing Nutrition plans to its members.

Individual plans will be issued to those requiring body fat reduction, performance and healthy eating.

WEEKLY TRAINING

The club started their new training night on Thursday 6th November at 6.15pm.

This session is a 1 hour run for the intermediate group and a tempo type run for the advanced group.

Fit N Running also have an intermediate runners class on Monday evenings, an advanced. class on Tuesday evenings and 2 strength conditioning circuit classes on Wednesday evenings.

All of these start at 615pm with the earlier circuit class on Wednesday starting at 5.15pm. New comers are always welcome.
