In one of the main events, Alan “The Apprentice” Philpott is fighting Leigh Remedios for the Cage Contender Bantamweight Title.

Philpott will endeavour for the second time to claim the Cage Contender Bantamweight Title when he enters the biggest fight of his career.

The popular Ballymena pugilist will be the massive underdog when facing one of the best known and most experienced Bantamweights in UK MMA Leigh “Bulldog” Remedios.

Leigh Remedios (38) of Huddersfield England is a veteran in the sport of MMA, a former UFC star and at one time considered the #1 Featherweight in the UK.

Significant Factor: Remedios, who traditionally fought at featherweight, is now fighting at bantamweight.

This would be a huge scalp for young star Philpott, who is coming off the back of a win against Steve McComb. Significantly, Remedios also defeated McComb back in 2009.

This is set to be one of the biggest fights at Cage Contender XVIII. It is the biggest fight of young Alan’s career.

Alan said: “I’m over the moon to get another shot on cage contender never mind for the title that makes it 10x better, I’m the best bantam on this island, it’s an honour to fight Leigh I’ve seen him fight loads on the net, but the apprentice is going to put the bulldog down.”
