Local girls enjoy Runher at Stormont

Ballycastle girls (left to right) Helena Dornan, Tracey Gillan and Clare Egan were among over 1,000 women who took part in the Belfast Telegraph Runher charity event at Stormont on Sunday May 15.

The family day out was a great success with joggers, runners and walkers enjoying the beautiful and historic surroundings of Stormont Estate. Race Director Michael Jenkins from Up and Running was delighted with the turn out. “We broke the 1,000 mark and it was a great day out, the camaraderie and support was super. Conditions were perfect as it was cool and there was no sun.”

Competitors from across Northern Ireland walked or ran five or 10 kilometres to raise money for local charity Cash for Kids.

The event is also backed by Belfast City Council through their ‘Support for Sport’ initiative, Sport Northern Ireland and Cool FM through its Cash for Kids charity initiative.
