Local swimmer James has a great showing at the Youth Championships

James Richardson, Coleraine Swimming Club Member and CAI puil, did his club proud at the recent British Youth Swimming Championships in Sheffield.

James swam brilliantly securing a commendable sixth place with a new PB of 24.1 seconds in the 50m free narrowly missing out on a medal as third place was 23.9 seconds. He also made the semi final of the 100m free equalling his PB of 53.69 seconds. In both events he was the top swimmer from Ireland. James will be returning to Sheffield in a few weeks time in September to represent Ireland at the UK School Games. James in now focusing on trying to qualify for the European Junior Championships in Helsinki in July 2014.
