Local team win open event

It was generously sponsored by Mr Paul McClements Art Gallery, Fine Arts Ireland, Lisburn Road, Belfast.

The winning team were locals Bronagh McKavanagh, Lynne Hanna and Clare McGourty with 87 points. In fact they required a better back nine to secure this win.

Runners-up were Fiona McGrady, Cara Murphy and Heather Shaw with a similar haul of 87 points.

Third prize went to Fiona Cummins and two of the upcoming juniors, Maeve Cummins and Eadoin Ward, with 86 points.

On Tuesday, July 20, the ladies played for the Irish Mail Fourball trophy.

The winners of this event were Bronagh McKavanagh and Orla O’Dowd with 42 points. The second place pair was Diane Patterson and Cara Murphy with 39 points.

The winners will represent the club in a matchplay competition in early 2011.

In the nine hole competition the winner was Ann Alexander with 17 points.
