Locals still chalking up indoor titles

LOCAL bowlers have enjoyed success at a number of recent indoor tournaments.

At the 2nd Kilrea Presbyterian Pairs, Bryan Magrath (Ballymena United Social Club) teamed up with Erin Montgomery (Abbey Presbyterian) to win the tournament.

On their way to the title they defeated Ivan Smyth and Nicky McCaw from the host club in the semi-final and then they defeated the Cookstown High father and son combination of Hugh and Alan Paul in the final.

David and Andrew Morrison (1st Ahoghill) also qualified for the Finals Night, but were knocked out in the early stages.

Meanwhile, more than 240 players took part in the Mid Tyrone Open Singles tournament which was held at St Joseph's Hall Omagh.

David Morrison (1st Ahoghill) claimed the title, beating John Quinn (Ballylennon) in the semi-final and then defeating Danny McDonald (St Anthony's) in the final.
