Jonathan Calvin (B’rees) pulled a point back with a seven shot win against Edwin Irwin (L’reagh). Alastair Steele sealed the overall win for the hosts, beating Victor Millen by six shots.

The Marian, who lie third in the table, entertained St. Colman’s. James Martin (Marian) saw off Paul McCook (St. C’man’s) winning 12 shots to six. Joe Martin (Marian) made it 2-0 by beating Kenny Carson (St. C’man’s) by four shots. Martin McAleese got St. Colman’s solitary point with a win against Brian McAlary. William McCaw (Marian) ensured the win for his team with a 13 shots to 10 win against David Walker (St. C’man’s).

In the local derby between Second Kilrea and Boveedy it was the hosts who faired best. In a very tight game, Margaret Johnston (2nd. Kilrea) just got the better of Mary Graham (B’veedy), winning by one shot. Nicky McCaw (2nd. Kilrea) was too good for Alan Catherwood winning 14 shots to one. Aaran Tennant got Boveedy’s only point with a fine win over Brian McGrath. In the last game, Ivan Smyth (2nd. Kilrea), beat Ashley McCahon (B’veedy) 13 shots to six.

In the remaining game in Division 1, Moneydig recorded their first win of the season with a 7-0 win over St. Mary’s. John Wallace (M’dig) was up against Declan McCann (St. Mary’s) and in a very high scoring game Wallace came out on top with a 17 shots to 12 win. Trevor Workman (M’dig) then took on Aidan Cassley (St. Mary’s) and won 13 shots to five. Jordan Mullan (St. Mary’s) went down by two shots in his encounter with Torrence McFetridge (M’dig) and Willie Knight put the icing on the cake for the home team with a 10 shots to nine victory against David Gaile (St. Mary’s).

Dunloy Presbyterian still lead Division 2, getting all seven points on their visit to Killowen. Joe Campbell (Dunloy) beat Harry Sweeney (Killowen) 16 shots to three. David Morrison (Killowen) made Thomas Paul (Dunloy) fight all the way but went down by one shot. Mark Shaw (Dunloy) was too good for Robert McClements and he won easily. Sadie Davis (Killowen) lost by six shots to 14 against Andrew Sayers (Dunloy).

New Row is still in contention for League honours after this home win against Drumreagh. Jonathan Elder (New Row) beat Carson Boyd (D’reagh) convincingly. Raymond Clyde (D’reagh) also went down badly to Mark Callaghan (New Row).Edwin Jackson brought some cheer to the visitors with a fine win against Sammy McArthur. John Graham (New Row) won the bonus points when he defeated Aubrey Walker 10 shots to five.

Castlerock never like coming to First Coleraine and so it proved once again for they went home with no points. Clifford McLernon (C’raine) played Victor Callaghan (C’rock) and won 14 shots to three. Bryan Shaw (C’raine) had a very tight game against Brian Wilson (C’rock) but held on to win 10 shots to eight shots. In the second half with big wins from Colin Hutchinson and Jim Campbell, both 1st. Coleraine, who beat Jackie Hutchinson and Ronnie Steele respectively the result was never in doubt.

In the final game in Division 2, Finvoy Presbyterian beat Garvagh and District to move them up into third position in Division 2. Elizabeth McCafferty (Garvagh) played Gary McCloy (Finvoy) and lost 12 shots to four. Donna McCloy (Finvoy) was up against David Workman (Garvagh) and won by 4 shots. Ken McLenaghan (Garvagh) had a good game with Chris Jones (Finvoy) but lost by two shots. Joe Moore (Finvoy) had a big win against Geoffrey Boyce (Garvagh) to make sure of the overall win.
