Loughgiel Shamrocks U16 girls hold on to win thrilling semi final

Shamrocks U16 Girls won a thrilling semi final against Ballycastle joining the Intermediate and Senior Shamrock Camogoe Teams in Feis Finals

The game started with Ballycastle hitting the net and sending a ball soaring over the bar shortly after throw in but Loughgiel werent going to drop the heads as Róisín McCormick hammered a penalty home the girls stuck tight and the scores started to come leaving the game level at half time.

Corner forward Chloe O’Mullan made way for Ciara Laverty and Ciara had only graced the pitch when the ball ended up in the net of the girls from the town. The second half saw scores exchanged to leave the game level on ocassions. The game possessed everything - hooks and blocks to some of the finest play seen at Fr Healy Park. Loughgiel held on to the final whistle and it was the girls in red and white that progressed to the final.
