Lurgan triumphat Ballybay event

Twenty nine teams, totalling 116 match anglers from all over Ireland, have taken part in the Ballybay Angling Association Teams of Four event fished on the Black and Yellow Islands, White Island and Concra Wood sections of Lough Muckno.

A minutes silence was held as a mark of respect for the tragic accident that happened to the anglers from Portadown Pikers on Lough Ree.

All keep nets, landing nets and other gear were dipped at the station provided at the Old Coach Inn to prevent contamination before the all in signal.

It was a five hour match fished from 11am until 4pm and there was a sharp wind with the day changing from bright sunny crisp conditions to overcast with icy rain showers and hailstones.
