Magee fall-out rumours denied

GLENAVON boss Marty Quinn has been quick to deny any rumours of a fall-out with defender Jay Magee.

The former Ards man has been long linked with Glentoran and after he was brought off at half-time in last week’s 5-4 defeat to Crusaders before being left out of the side to face Portstewart, whispers of discontent were rife.

However, the gaffer says there are no problems in his camp. After a niggling injury then, will the 08/09 club Player of the Season be returning to the starting line-up?

“Yes, most definitely,” said Quinn clearly.

“There has been no fall-out whatsoever, let me put that to bed.

“There was nothing in him being left out on Saturday. I had a chat with Jay last week and he’s happy at Glenavon. The rumours about Glentoran are purely rumours and he assures me that he’s happy here.

“He’s had a slight thigh strain and we decided to leave him out on Saturday for a rest.”
