Maghera Strollers ready for champions test

LINCOLN Courts who hadn't played for a number of weeks were in top form, scoring ten against Foyle Wanderers - and this after the Magheramason men went two goals up.

Newtowne continued their winning run with a comfortable home win over Sion, Maghera Strollers had a welcome win against a disappointing Drummond side, while BBOB and Greysteel defeated Burndennett and Roe Rovers respectively.

In the First Division Donemana got the better of Newbuildings Reserves by the odd goal of three, Claudy Rovers defeated neighbours Park while City Colts continued their good form defeating Claudy United, Tullyally and Eglinton finished all square.

Ardmore remain at the top of the Second Division after hammering Churchill, Glendermott had a good home win over Roe Rovers Reserves, Caw had an easy win against Irish Street while Newtowne Reserves scored the only goal of the game at Dungiven Thirds.

BBOB v Foyle Wanderers

The Old Boys have picked up seven points from their last three games, but they know that if they are going to have a say in the title race they must continue their winning ways.

How will Wanderers react to their heavy defeat last Saturday? They haven't won a game since the opening match and look set for a relegation fight, no joy for them from this one.

Prediction: BBOB.

Greysteel v Lincoln Courts

Two of the top sides in the Division, the home side ended Roe Rovers winning run last week and they are now close to the top of the table, they play attacking football but sometimes they are found wanting at the back.

The Courts were on fire last week and with quality players like Kolyn Patterson and Mark Hamilton backed up by a good keeper in Ian Killen they are always going to be hard to beat.

Prediction: Lincoln Courts.

Sion v Burndennett

A local derby that is always keenly contested, the home side just can't get things right in the league and suffered a drubbing at Newtowne last week they have conceded 19 goals in their last four games.

The visitors went down narrowly to a good BBOB side last week, that was two bad results in a row and they must be worried about the number of goals they are leaking.

Prediction: Burndennett.

Drummond v Roe Rovers

It has been a poor season so far for Drummond they have yet to win a game and things are not looking to encouraging, they have lost a number of players and haven't been able to replace them.

Rovers went down narrowly last Saturday their first league defeat of the season, they are good enough to bounce back and maintain their title challenge.

Prediction: Roe Rovers.

Maghera Strollers v Newtowne

The Strollers have shown an improvement in the last couple of weeks especially their forwards who have scored nine in their last two games.

The Limavady men are once again the side you must beat if you are hoping to wrestle the league crown from them, however there are few teams in the Division that are capable of doing that.

Prediction: Newtowne.
