Magic from Montgomery to win second round race
A generally fast course but with enough rises and a long drag to the finish that ensures there is little hiding in the wheels.

Hide AdHome from international success was triathlete Russell White, who was hoping to show the local road racers what damage his well-trained form could do.
Also returning to local roads for the race was An Post Chain Reaction rider David Montgomery.
Following a strong start to the year with his new professional team, David’s season has been hampered by injury.

Hide AdIt’s great to see him back in training and hopefully it will see him back on the professional race circuit before long.
Three laps of the seven mile circuit were covered and by the time the race had entered its final lap the scratch group had worked well to catch the front of the race.
Coming to the line club rider Simon Curry looked to have got one over on all his competitors, but it was the An Post man Montgomery who pipped him on the line.

Hide AdThey were closely followed by Stephen Fitzsimmons, Gareth McKee and Peter McBride.
Next week’s club race will see the riders take on the hilly 10 mile time trial in Moneyslane, covering the boiling well climb on route to Finnis.
