MAKE OURS A DOUBLE!

MONEYSLANE will aim to complete the double on Friday night when they travel to Crewe United to play AFC Craigavon in the final of the Beckett Cup.

It has been a remarkable season for Moneyslane who played in Division Three of the Mid Ulster League this term.

And on Saturday they eased past Caledon with a 7-1 victory to secure the title under the stewardship of Glenn Barr and assistant boss John Kernaghan.

They reached the final after a dramatic 3-2 win over Armagh Rovers thanks to a goal from Mark Anderson and a brace from Cliffy Sterritt.

A striker with plenty of Irish League experience Sterritt will need to be on top form to fire the Slane to glory.

In their ranks Slane have a number of players with experience at the top level, including former Glenavon winger Timmy Graham and Thomas McCann, who signed for the club at the start of this season.

The match will kick off at 7pm and the club has organised buses for supporters which will leave the Square in Rathfriland at 5.30pm sharp.

Anyone wanting to travel on the buses must contact Michael on 07988654823. It will be 5 per head on the bus and everyone is welcome to come along and support Moneyslane.
