Man United tickets on sale now

MANCHESTER United supporters will have the chance to see their heroes in action next month.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s men will face an Airtricity League XI to officially open the new Aviva Stadium on Wednesday, August 4.

The Football Association of Ireland announced that tickets for the opening football match at Aviva Stadium are now on sale through www.fai.ie.

The United friendly will be followed closely on Wednesday, August 11 when the Republic of Ireland face Argentina.

Commenting ahead of the game, the Airtricity League XI manager, Damien Richardson said: “The opening of Aviva Stadium is a hugely important development and it is a source of pride that the Airtricity League will be given the opportunity to officially open the new home of Irish football.

“With the international profile of this game, it represents a wonderful opportunity for our players to highlight the quality of professional football on show here in Ireland.

“There is a very talented pool of players in this country and I will spend the next few weeks travelling to as many matches as I can before naming my squad later this month.”

Manchester United star, John O’Shea said: "I am really looking forward to the match in Dublin. We have a massive following of fans from Ireland and I know they will do us proud and give us great reception in the new Aviva stadium."

Kevin Greenhorn, Managing Director of Airtricity said: “We are really looking forward to the inaugural Airtricity Challenge match at Aviva Stadium.

“The return of representative football can only be a positive development for the Airtricity League and we look forward to an exciting and historic game at the new Aviva Stadium.”

Tickets for the Airtricity League XI v Manchester United fixture are priced at 45 euros and 60 euros.
