Manchester United fan loved to socialise

THE residents of the Gilford district learned with regret the passing in Craigavon Area Hospital of John Frederick Adamson, 7 Bannview Estate, Gilford which took place on July 2.

Freddie, as he was affectionately known to everyone who knew him, was the dearly loved husband of Chris and devoted father of Stuart and Paul and step-father of Cindy and Lorraine.

Freddie was brought up in Gilford and lived there all his life. He had just been taken into hospital two week previous to his passing and the family would like to acknowledge the support and nursing care that was given to him.

He was employed in Gilford Mill and was there from the start of his working life to the closure of the Mill. He then moved to Goodyear in Craigavon and was there until his retirement.

He loved to socialise with all the people he knew around Gilford and loved to go out fishing and shooting and was a very popular man around town. He was very keen on his garden and loved growing vegetables. He was an ardent supporter of Manchester United Football Club.

His main interest was centred around his daughters Cindy and Lorraine, daughter-in-law Jane, son-in-law Craig, his grandchildren Sophie, Brandon, Ethan, Dylan and Ryan, Catrina, Kirsty, Stephanie, Lisa, Jason, Jenny and three great grandchildren - Cody, Ryan and Roxie. To these and all other relatives sincere sympathy has been extended.

The funeral took place privately from the home of his son and daughter-in-law Stuart and Jane, 22 Castle Meadows, Gilford last Monday for a service in Gilford Presbyterian Church at which his minister, the Rev S Newell officiated and gave an inspiring address to the large congregation.
