“Since last Friday it’s just been all go” explained Darts chairman Jamie Serplus.

“On Friday night we had an exhibition with England International Martin Atkins as special guest and it was a great evening of entertainment before we set off to the Northern Ireland Open on Saturday in Newry.

“This week we were also delighted to announce a new sponsorship deal with The Beautiful Game.

“The local team wear specialists are venturing out into other sports aside from their normal football based roots. With already being involved in hockey, rugby and cricket among others, they have now taken the plunge into the world of darts. Already they have been suppliers to us of tops and printing needs, darts, boards and other accessories.

“The Beautiful Game are now set to be our main sponsor and their name will appear on our new shirts, which we will launch in January.

“After all the hustle and bustle of securing sponsorship and taking part in the Northern Ireland Open, it was great to get all the collection tins, T-shirts and final preparations completed for this Friday’s big Charity event.

“A lot of effort has been put in and we all hope it will raise a lot of needed funds for this local source of Cancer Care.

“If anyone sees a dart team member with a collection sheet, or collection tin please give generously, and don’t forget there is an online page where you can donate to us (www.justgiving.com/institute-darts). Everyone’s donations no matter how small, I can assure you are very much appreciated.”
