Martan first home for Larne AC at London Marathon

Larne AC member Glenn Mann travelled to Peatlands Park in Dungannon on Saturday for the multi-terrained jog around the bog in aid of Guide Dogs for the Blind NI.

He finished 46th in 51.46 over the tough 5.5 mile course.

Meanwhile, Eddie Finn was the winner on Saturday as Larne AC members took part in the Seacourt Handicap race. Eddie was pronounced the winner with a time of 25:07.

Elsewhere, Billy Thompson and Heather Baxter made the long journey to Strabane to take part in the 2nd running of the Strabane to Lifford half marathon.

Billy finished in 1.26.36 & Heather in 1.46.53. Keith Hetherington also completed the half marathon in 1.53.33.

On Sunday, five Larne AC members travelled to London to take part in one of the most popular marathons in the world.

First home for the club was Martan Keane who was making his debut at the distance. He ran a very consistent race and broke the 3 hour mile stone to clock an outstanding 2:59:48.
