With perfect weather conditions, both girls took silver medals in their respective events.

Suzannah, running for the first time over 250m hurdles, ran an excellent race to finish in a strong second place. Suzannah has been training for a mere 5 weeks at hurdles and has taken to this new discipline with amazing ease.

Rachel ran 1500m in a new personal best time of 5min 1sec, a tremendous achievement for a year 8 girl.

Rachel finished in silver medal position and adds this to the silver medal she won in the 800m from last weekend when she ran an outstanding time of 2min 26sec.

Rachel will be in action on the 25th June in an invitational under 15 girls 800m at the Mary Peters Track International Opening Event where Competitors from across the UK, Ireland and further afield will be taking part.

Belfast Lord Mayor, Councillor Máirtín Ó Muilleoir, Lord Sebastian Coe, Chairman of the British Olympic Association, and Dame Mary Peters are hosting the event which follows the £3m refurbishment of the track.

Suzannah and Rachel are both looking forward to the All Ireland Track and Field Championships being held in Tullamore, County Offaly early in July.
