Maurice wins £1,000 in big race

MAURICE Wilkinson of the Wilton Cross HPS has netted himself around £1,000 after topping the NIPA in the premier race of the old bird season.

His two year old hen was two yards ahead of A. McAteer and son, Newry, having flown from St Malo, France, a distance of 448 miles.

The hen was sitting 14 days having flown Roscarbery Nat, the Skibbereen Nat and the five bird Fermoy.

Sire is a grandson of Maurice’s King’s Cup winner ‘Mowo’ and dam an Eddie McKnight and Ron Williamson cross.
