Maybin to return for charity day

EUROPEAN Tour golfer Gareth Maybin (pictured) is set to return to Ballyclare Golf Club for a charity day next month.

The former North of Ireland Amateur Champion, who is gaining success in Asia, Africa and Europe, recently played his first two majors at the US Open and the British Open.

The golf day, set to take place on Friday August 13, is in support of Diane Beggs and in particular Aperts Syndrome.

A competition for Men, Ladies or mixed groups is planned with a 100 entry fee per fourball. Already most starting times are booked but further details are available from the Club Pro Shop (93324541).

A series of superb golf prizes are on offer while the entry fee includes golf and evening entertainment which starts at 8.30pm. The night will include a Question and Answer session with Gareth, an auction of golfing gear and entertainment.

Another big attraction will be a raffle for a fully loaded European Tour bag with a set of clubs as used by Gareth Maybin. Tickets are available at the Ballyclare clubhouse.

The European Tour professional will also be giving two Golf Clinics one at 10am and the other at 2pm.
