Haire started well enough and led 2 shots to one as the players traded single shots over the first three ends.

However, McCabe gradually got on top and scored consistently for the remainder of the game and eventually ran out a comfortable winner by eleven shots to three.

In the semi-finals, Haire had played well to overcome Bill Clinghan also from the Hillsborough by eight shots to five in a very tight affair whilst McCabe outscored the defending champion Alan Paul from Cooksown by fifteen shots to ten.
