McCartan named in Down senior squad

LATEST news from Liatroim Fontenoys:

n Congratulations to Miceal McCartan on being selected on the Down Senior Football Squad. The club wishes him well this season with the Down team.

Congratulations also go to the Senior camogie team who won the Feis 7's title in Castlewellan last weekend. They defeated a strong Clonduff team in the final on a score of 2-11 to 0-5.

n Camogie fundraiser - Clothes bag pack on Saturday July 3 at 10am. Start collecting your old clothes, shoes, bedding etc. and leave at the clubrooms before July 3.

n Senior Citizens Club - The following events will be held in the Liatroim clubrooms: Friday June 25 - Community safety and crime prevention talk, 11am-1pm.

Friday July 30 - Access to benefits and advice on home safety.

Also a tea dance will be held in the Millennium Hall, Clough on Monday June 21 from 2-4pm. Transport is available on request, phone 02844612311.

n Good luck to the U14 camogie team who are travelling to Clarecastle in Co. Clare to compete in the All Ireland Feile.

n The committee and members extend sincere sympathy to the McCartan family on the death of Mary Rose and to Una Ward and family on the death of her brother Hugh. May they rest in peace.

n The annual Pat Doyle underage football tournament will take place on Saturday June 26.

n Tyrone v Down ticket arrangements - Due to the small size of the stand in Casement Park, each club in Down has only been allocated two stand tickets. The rest of the ground is pay at the turnstile. Prices are as follows:

Uncovered stand adult - €25 / 21; uncovered stand senior citizen - €15 / 13; adult terrace - €15 / 13.

Juvenilles (U16) are free into the terrace and open seating; senior citizen terrace - €10 / 9

n The golf classic is on June 18 at Downpatrick Golf Club. Good luck to all taking part.

n Lotto - Thursday June 10 – 9, 13, 14, 23. There were four match three winners: Charlie Keown, Michelle Doyle, C O’Higgins, Bronagh Quail. The sellers draw was won by Henry Doyle. Next week’s jackpot is 1,600 with the draw to be made in Turley’s Bar on Thursday June 17.
