McCorry helps Saints to high five

Champions St Comgall’s are now top of the Larne and District Snooker league after a 5-0 home win over Ballyclare Golf Club ‘A’.

Shaun McAlister, with breaks of 25 and 30, and team manager Anthony McCorry with a 31, were on form in what was a big win for the Saints.

Greenbank ‘A’ are steadily moving up the table thanks to a fantastic 5-0 victory against Linfield. McCaffrey, Johnston, Williams, Douglas and Wayne Harper pocketed the frames that moved the Sunnylands side to sixth.

In a derby battle, The Point came out top over clubmates Latharna with a 4-1 win. G. McNeill, Jim Boyle, S. Girvan and G. Ferguson all won with Jim Jackson producing Latharna’s response.

Q-Club ‘A’ beat their ‘B’ team 4-1 in the other derby match while Ballyclare ‘B’ kept up their good form with a 3-2 victory over Carrick GC ‘A’. Jim Crockard, Ian Wallace and B. Irvine all won, with Gavin Baker and Ricky Bradley notching victories for the North Road team.

Jim Magill, D. McNeill, P Haveron and D Irwin helped ease Ballylumford to a solid 4-1 win over Ballyclare Old Boys. Declan McClean took the only frame for Ballyclare. Carrick ‘B’ saw off neighbours Greenbank ‘B’ 3-2. Wins for Jim Greene, Tommy Bond and Harry Wade secured maximum points with A. Adrian and H. McMurtry reponding for the visitors.
