McCurdy inspires Money victory

Ballymoney started the first half strong with good link up play between the midfield of Karen Morrison, Lauren Mullan and Laura McCurdy.

Hard work from the forward line resulted in Ballymoney being awarded a short corner.

This was converted by Karen Morrison to open the scoring. Ballyclare fought back to earn themselves a goal, however, this equaliser did not last long as Rachel Lightbody made an excellent run into the circle to score Ballymoney's second goal. In the second half Ballymoney maintained possession and were the dominant team.

The defence made sure to prevent any Ballyclare attacks with excellent tackles from Ruth Sutherland and some great attacking play from Becky Greer.

As a result of this possession Laura McCurdy found herself inside the circle and made a great strike which resulted in her first of the game.

After some quick passes from Sue Ruddick, Laura McCurdy got her second goal. Ballymoney continued to pressurise Ballyclare and were again rewarded late in the second half. Some skilful play from Lauren Mullan allowed Laura McCurdy to tap the ball into the net for her third goal. The final score was 5-1 and Ballymoney would like to thank both Susie and Alan for umpiring and to the Ballymoney supporters.
