McCurry scoops fourth Irish surfing title

LOCAL surfer ‘Long’ John McCurry picked up his fourth Irish title at the final Irish National Surf Tour event at Strandhill, Co. Sligo.

John won the longboard category using a combination of traditional and progressive longboarding after three previous successful wins one of which was the Portrush Open back in April.

This will give him a shot of confidence for the European surf championships being held in the surf capital Bundoran Co. Donegal on September 23rd til October 2nd.

It was a good event for the Causeway Coast Surf Club.
