McCutcheon set for Ballymena exit

GLENN Ferguson will have to continue his rebuilding job at Ballymena United without the services of the club’s star asset from next season.

Striker Gary McCutcheon has announced he will leave the Showgrounds at the end of his current contract in the summer and will join Crusaders.

The loss of the 26-goal striker after two years at the club is a huge blow for boss Ferguson.

“I’m obviously disappointed to lose a striker who can score 25 to 30 goals in a season but we have to move on and try to rebuild again,” said Ballymena boss Glenn Ferguson.

“These things happen in football,” he added.
