McGlinchey storms to victory

THE Iona Bar Golf Society recent competiton, which took place at Moyola was secured by Tommy McGlinchey, he stormed to 36 points giving him a three point lead from second and third.

Second after a break of tie finish was claimed by Derek McFeely (18) after he scored 33 points, while Din Tracey (13) was third. Trevor Holmes (12) with 16 points won the front nine and Liam Tierney (24) with 17 points won the back nine.

Martin Tierney (16) scored 33 points to win the category 1 section, Raymond Curley (17) with 31 points won the category 2 section and the category 3 section was claimed by Davy McGrotty (20) after he scored 31 points.

Mr McGrotty won at the bottle hole fourth and Arthur McMenamin won the bottle 17th. Bosco Kelly (8) and McGrotty won the two’s and Arthur McMenamin and Bosco Kelly won the par 3’s.

The team prize was claimed after a BOT finish by Trevor Holmes, Danny Ridgney, Tommy McGlinchey and Seamus Givens, they finished with 48 points.
