McKinney continues to impress

Cycling

BRYAN McKinney competed in only his second open road race last Sunday, when he lined up at the start line for the B race at the John Haldane Memorial Road Races, organised by Newry Wheelers.

The race proved to be a fast technical affair, with an average speed of over 25 MPH, Bryan worked hard throughout the race, which came down to a bunch sprint in which Bryan finished in the top 15 riders.

Club members are certainly impressed with Bryan’s enthusiasm and determination and we certainly will be hearing more about the big man in this column in the coming months.

Club training runs

The clubs weekly training run meets at the Strand Service Station on the Strand Road in Coleraine on Saturdays and Sundays at 9am, weather permitting.

Two training groups will cycle approximately 50 miles, the 1st group will average approximately 18-19 MPH, with the 2nd group averaging 16-17 MPH. The club would welcome anyone who would like to come along and highlight that the rider can turn off to shorten the distance if they wish.
