McShane signs on for another two years

PAT McShane has agreed a new two year contract with Lisburn Distillery.Manager Tommy Wright is delighted the veteran fullback is staying at New Grosvenor.

Wright had a meeting with the board on Wednesday night to mull over his budget for the new season.

"I am thrilled Pat is staying on," said Tommy. "To be honest, he was not too hard to talk to. He is a model professional and it's great to have a player of his quality and experience on board.

"I have been given a budget which I am happy with so we can start planning ahead. I have also held talks with other players coming out of contract and perhaps we will have a couple of new faces too."

The boss also confirmed he had placed David McAlinden on the transfer list. The centreback joined the Whites earlier this season from Cliftonville.

Wright has also talked to Michael Halliday, but the striker released by Glentoran last weekend is poised to join Ballymena United.
