Medal success at Karate Championships

TWO members of the Chujo Karate Association have won medals in the 2011 Northern Ireland Karate Championships.

THE championships were held in Lisburn Leisure Plex on Saturday 29 October. Jade Lamont won gold in the girls 12 to 13 years old sparring event and she also won a bronze in the childrens 6TH TO 4TH Kyu Individual Kata Event.

Nicola Lamont won a bronze medal in the 16 to 21 years Mixed Cadets Kata Event.

Chief Coach Dan Redmond said he was proud of their success. he also complimented the four other club members who had competed but without any medals success.

The other competing members were: Scott Kennedy; Kevin Mullan; Mark O’Connor; Andrew O’Neill.
