Meehan is the main man with double delight

If there were stakes on Lambeg GC's Golfer of the Year, one man's odds would have been cut to ribbons.

Bobby Meehan has started the season in nigh on perfect fashion, topping the club’s Winter League final standings and also snatching the first competition of the summer season.

He beat Colin Higgins into second place in the Winter League, with Ernie Turkington coming in third and David Thompson fourth.

Bobby then made sure to carry that form into The Lambeg Championship. Playing off 23, Bobby managed a magnificent score of 77 gross, a stunning 54 nett, to ease to first place.

Second placed Jason Taggart was a full four shots behind with Colin Higgins in third spot. Best gross on the day was Ivor Harron.
