The teenager, confirmed in the Curtis Cup panel last week, celebrated that call-up in style with a level-par 73 (220) over the three-round event to wrap up a five-shot victory.

Mehaffey - ranked as the World number nine - will line out with the Great Britain and Ireland team alongside fellow Irish stars Leona Maguire and Maria Dunne.

The Curtis Cup is arguably the biggest tournament in ladies’ amateur golf as the GB&I team take on USA in a Ryder Cup-style competition.

The Irish trio bagged their spots on the team via World golf rankings and will be joined by England’s Bronte Law, Alice Hewson, Meghan MacLaren, Rochelle Morris and Charlotte Thomas.

Despite recently recovering from glandular fever, Mehaffey has also won an Irish title this season and finished runner-up in Scotland.

The USA have won eight of the last nine Curtis Cup contests and Mehaffey will be out to end that run at Dun Laoghaire Golf Club from June 10-12.
