Meharg leads Sperrin home in ‘the Bridges’

SPERRIN Harriers were well represented at last week’s ‘Round the Bridges’ ten mile road race in Limavady.

Aaron Meharg was the first Harrier to cross the line in a time of 1:02:15 followed by Aidan O’Hagan who had a strong race to finish in 1:03:40. Paul McLaughlin completed the course in 1:04:45 while little separated Francis Stewart and Martin McGirr with times of 1:07:46 and 1:07:57.

Colly Gallagher (1:08:22), Alvin Taylor(1:08:34) and Martin Loughran (1:08:42) were closely followed by Ashley Hughes who crossed the line in 1:09:32. Trevor Dallas ran the course in 1:11:15 with Raymond Thom next in 1:11:43. Kevin Devlin (1:12:12), Fergal Mulgrew (1:12:54) and Gregory Cahoon (1:13:06) were followed by Paul Martin (1:14:08).

Gary Ward and Jeremy Dobson stuck closely together, running 1:16:06 and 1:16:11 respectively. Oliver Murphy ran a time of 1:18:58 and Anthony O’Neill recorded 1:19:34.

The next Harrier over the line and the first female representative was Monical Mullan in 1:23:57-a strong run and PB for Monica. Niall Gallagher ran in next in 1:24:32. Sperrin’s other female entrant, Hannah Su clocked up 1:33:50 over the ten miles, while Kieran O’Hagan finished in 1:45:26. Well done to all competitors with a good turn out from the club.

Well done also to Ryan Treanor and Darren Warnock for their times in Ards half marathon with Ryan finishing in 1:34:47 and Darren in 1:46:35.
