Mental health programme for clubs set for Ballymena

A Mental Health & Well Being programme for local sports clubs will be delivered in Ballymena later this month.

Sport NI in association with the Public Health Agency have devised the programme designed to have a direct impact upon the coaching and playing population of sports clubs from Playground to Podium.

The programme will take place in two parts at Ballymena Showgrounds.

The first, on Saturday, February 21, is on Mental Resilience Training delivered by Sporting Chance (9.30am-4pm).

The second, on Saturday, February 28, is on Mental Health First Aid Training delivered by Aware Defeat Depression, again from 9.30am until 4pm.

If your club wants help in developing structure and training around Mental Health and want to engage in this programme then please register your interest by emailing [email protected] by this Thursday, February 12, with your club name, sport and contact details for the person who will be attending on behalf of the club including: Name, Telephone Number and Email Address. Places are limited on this pilot programme and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. This course has no charge but participants are asked to ensure they can attend BOTH sessions.
