Mervyn wins Davy Armour Memorial Road Race

Alison Rankin, Treasurer Triangle Triathlon Club, receives a sponsorship cheque from Steven McKenzie of North Coast Leisure in support of the Roe Valley and Causeway Coast Triathlons.

Twenty-five riders competed in this handicapped race split into four groups. Three Ballymoney CC riders rode a text book race launching a number of attacks resulting in Ballymoney rider Mervyn Linton making a significant solo break from the third lap. The rest of the group worked hard to reel him back in but left it too late and Mervyn went on to take a well deserved win by a significant margin.

Second rider home was another Ballymoney rider, Ronan Sherman, third place went to unattached Australian rider Tim Devlin, fourth Stuart Laverty with first Bann Wheeler home being Konrad Kealey who narrowly edged out club mate Laurence Bradley competing in his first road race.
