Messing about on the river

Destined members have been out on the Foyle as part of their summer programme.

This year Destined have put an emphasis on watersports and this includes learning to sail on the Foyle, using canoes, leisure cruising and some of the members will be doing deep sea fishing off the mouth of the lough.

The theme of water sports was developed in association with the Clipper celebration and gives people with a learning disability the opportunity to enjoy boating and sailing. Recently Destined launched a charter for social inclusion for people with learning disabilities in the city that seeks to give them the same equality of opportunity and this summer programme is part of that initiative.
