Mid Antrim progressed to this stage courtesy of an away victory in Cork in their previous round whilst visitors Mid Ulster find themselves in the shield having suffered a surprise two shot defeat and the hands of Monaghan zone.

In the semi-final they were drawn against Cookstown Parochial who had won the competition on no less than four occasions since the inception of the competition in 2000.

The game was evenly contested and after four or five ends Michelin were actually up a couple of shots.

With six of the eight ends completed, the Cookstown team held a one shot lead but the game changed on the seventh end when the three Michelin rinks conceded a total of eight shots across the mats to hand advantage to the team from Mid Ulster.

Unfortunately there was no way back for the Woodside Road-based team as Cookstown ran out winners by a margin of four shots in the end.
