BALLYMAGUIGAN

BINGO was yesterday (Wednesday).

And, Sunday, was the start of the league,

reserves scoreline Ballymaguigan 1-5 to Claudy 3-8. Senior men battled hard to be denied by one, Ballymaguigan 0-11 Claudy 2-6. Next game is at home against Forglen. Training is Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30pm.

Senior ladies league campaign will start on Monday, away to Limavady. Training is Monday and Wednesday.

U16 boys lost to Drumsurn in their second game. Next, a home tie, is today (Thursday) against Lissan.

And, Monday was the start of the league campaign of the minors (Tir na nOg).

COOKSTOWN

Lotto numbers 3-4-10-20; four match threes won £25. The jackpot is £5600.

ACL gets under way on Sunday and Fr Rocks go to Omagh, reserve 2:15pm and Senior 3:45pm. A big Fr Rocks support is expected in Healy Park.

Awards night for senior footballers is on Friday 26th April in Greenvale Hotel.

Minors are in action on Wednesday at 7pm, home against Killeeshil.

U14s train Wednesday 6:15pm, MUSA; the boys had a great win over Naomh Mhuire at home. Next is a home fixture against Moy on Thursday 6:45pm.

U10s train on Friday at 6:30pm, Paddy Cullen Park. After School football is at the usual times on Thursday and Friday.

There are just four left in the Last man standing competition entering final round - Marie Potter, Gerard O’Connor, Phelim Mulgrew and Dessie Maguire. Each will be asked to predict winners of four National League Finals. The person with most correct predictions will win the money. We will be in contact with all four, fixtures Tyrone v Dublin, Derry v Westmeath, Monaghan v Meath and Offaly v Limerick.

Well done to Holy Trinity College on their performance in All Ireland Vocational final, a great game lost by a single point. The players and management left Croke Park disappointed but with their heads held high on Saturday and did all their clubs proud. Well done to James and Eoin on another great season for the school.

EIRE OGS

Our senior hurlers suffered a three point defeat by Lisbellaw in Armagh League 0-19 to 0-16. Their next match is away to Dungannon on 21st May.

U16 hurlers are due to play a challenge game against Cuchullians this Friday in Cookstown. All players are required to be at the Youth Club for 6pm.

U14 league game against Strabane will be rescheduled for a later date.

U14 Camogie League will be starting at end of April and on Sunday 5th May they compete in Tyrone Camogie Féile. The next post-primary league match is away to Edendork, information at training. Blitz for U6, U8, U10 camogs in Edendork on Saturday 27th April, meet at Youth Club for 9.30am. Good luck to St. Columbkille’s PS in Ulster Camogie Blitz on Thursday after winning Cumann Na mBunscol title.

Moneymore GAC presented Comedy hypnotist show ‘Im Hypnotised Get Me Outta Here’ by Michael McCoy & supported by legendary Bard of Armagh Patsy O’Hagan. A great crowd were well entertained in one of the best nights we ever had the pleasure of organising. Senior Camogs had a disappointing start to league, defeated by Slaughtneil. The game was played with intense pace tand Slaughtneil was 5 points up at half time. Just 4 minutes in we lost Caoimhe McCoy due to an injury. Castledawson regrouped at halftime and came out fighting to reduce the difference to 4, Slaughtneil only managing to score 2. The score was 2-3 to 0-5. U12 Camogs travelled to Greenlough for blitz, defeated by Ballinascreen one goal to one point. The girls drew with Greenlough and Ballinderry. All players showed great potential for their last game with hunger for a win. Defence kept control throughout, midfield powered forward, with good scores from our forwards and were rewarded with a win against Glenullin. Minor boys lost narrowly to Strabane but bounced back with an excellent win over neighbours Carrickmore. They go to Loughmacrory on Wednesday 7pm.

ARDBOE

Lotto numbers on Friday 12th l were 5, 8, 23 and 24, match three winners Caitlin Tierney, Seamus McElwee and John McCave. New jackpot £2,900.

U14 team had league wins, Ardboe 10-12 Coalisland 9-10 and Ardboe 8-17 Pomeroy 3-7. Feile na nOg was held in Ardboe on Saturday, Ardboe beaten in final of a group that included Moortown, Coalisland, Moy and Clonoe.

Minor league is on Wednesday 17th home to Pomeroy with a 7pm throw in.

Ladies Senior League starts on Friday with a home game against Cappagh.

MAGHERAFELT

Congratulations to cast and crew of absolutely amazing “The Very Very Late Late Show”. Those lucky enough to get tickets will talk about it for many years. Thanks to all who showed support by packing Parish Centre for two nights.

Seniors defeated by Coleraine 1-4 to 0-10 in hard-fought affair at Rossa Park. Conditions made scoring difficult and Coleraine’s possession football ensured opportunities were even more limited.

Reserves had a good 2-16 to 0-3 victory with very positive play and the return of a few old hands to competitive football.

Thirds lost 1-9 to 1-4 at blustery Magilligan.

Minor ladies won convincingly in the championsip on Sunday morning.

U10s, proudly sporting SDC-sponsored jerseys took part in blitz in Owenbeg and were successful. Thanks to coaches and parents who gave their time.
