The senior men where at home to Ballerin in the first round of the Ulster league. Half time score 1-6 Ballymaguigan 0-2 Ballerin. Full time score 2-12 Ballymaguigan till 1-4 Ballerin. Next round is away to Edendork at 12noon.

Underage registration will take place on Sunday February 10 at 11.30am-1pm at the hall. All underage players MUST be registered for the 2013 season.

This year’s Summer Camp at Pairc Naomh Padraig will take place from Monday August 12 until Thursday August 15.

U14 training commences this Thursday February 7 at 6.30pm at the field. All U14 players must attend.

Under 14 and Minor registration is due soon as both their league campaigns begin in early March. The cost for registering is £5 and the under 14s forms and fee will be collected on Wednesday night at training. It is hoped to collect forms and fees from the Minors on Thursday night. Under 14 training continues on Wednesday evening at 7pm and on Saturday mornings at 10.30am. The Minors have a challenge game at Gortacladdy on Thursday evening.

We have arranged for training in the use of the clubs heart defibrillator for Mon 18th Feb at 8.00 in the clubrooms in Gortacladdy. The training should last no longer than one hour. There are still a few places left on the course, however places are limited, If you are interested in attending the defibrillator course can you let Michael McCallion know on 07747703797.

Tickets continue to sell well for The Flyin Fiddle night in The Greenvale Hotel on Friday night, February 8th at 8pm. There are still some tickets left and you can buy them at £5 from any committee member.

Seniors kicked off their Ulster league campaign on Sunday February 2 against Warrenpoint and won on a score line of Ardboe 2-11 Warrenpoint 0-4. Team: R Coleman, C Coney, M McKeown, S Teague, S Forbes, G Teague, T Wylie, J McConville, P Coney (0-1), M Brady (0-2), R Quinn (0-2), R Campbell, M Cassidy (1-1), S McGuigan (1-5), E Martin. Ardboe are away to Ballinderry this week.

New Ardboe hoodies and jerseys are now in stock at Intersport in Cookstown.

Parents and players are reminded it is now a requirement for all underage players, up to and including minor players, to wear mouthguards in both training and matches.

Training for all boys eligible for U8 and U10 football is in the Parish Centre on Friday nights from 7-8pm. Training for U14 boys continues on Sunday afternoons at 12pm on the pitch and indoor at the pavilion on Wednesday nights at 7:30pm.

SlimFit is now up and running, the schedule of weekly activities can be viewed on the club website and accessed via the club facebook or twitter page. The programme has had a fantastic response and is still open for registration should anyone still want to join. Anyone who is not a member of SlimFit but wants to attend some of the activities like jiving or circuits can do so at a cost of £3 per activity.

There will be a youth registration night on Monday 11th February at 7pm in the pavilion. This is for all youth players up to and including minors. All players must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The cost of registration is £10 per person or £25 for a family of three or more.

The presentation night for all players from U12 up will be held in the Parish Centre on Saturday 9th February commencing at 7:30pm.

Fr Rocks senior team are just 60mins from creating history as they set out in their bid to win their second all Ireland title, when they face Kerry and Munster champions Finuge in Croke Park on Saturday night. After a hard fought memorable victory in the semi-final against a highly fancied Charlestown side the Rocks are in confident mood. As recent history shows all Tyrone v Kerry games in Head Quarters are unique occasions and we expect this to be no different. We hope the travelling support is as plentiful and vocal as back in 2010. The committee would like to take this opportunity to thank the players and management for their efforts throughout this championship and wish them all the best in the final. Throw in is at 7.15pm

The minor boys have training at MUSA this Thursday at 6:15pm. Please remember that all players must have a gum shield for training and matches.

Under new ruling from congress all players up to and including minor as of January 1st 2013 will have to wear a mouthguard in all Gaelic football training sessions and matches.

Could anyone who was involved in coaching Youth Football last season, please return any equipment that they still have as the club wish to carry out an audit on all equipment for coaching.

Club membership is now due and there will be an opportunity to pay next Monday evening in the club rooms 6pm-7pm. Adult membership is £35 for the year. All players and committee members should have membership paid by the next meeting or game. Youth membership is £5 for the year, and student membership is £10.

The Minor girls are back out training on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7.30pm, all girls who are interested in playing for the team should attend training.

The U14 boys are training Mondays and Thursdays at 7pm.

Starting from 11.00 am on the Saturday 9th March in the Pavillion. Screening available for males and females aged from 14-35. The cost of this screening is £35.00 per person. To book at slot at the clinic email [email protected] or telephone Kieran Grimes 07795681000 or Aidan Quinn. The lower age limit is 14 years, as the child’s heart is not fully formed until age 14. If screened before this age many more tests would be listed as abnormal, causing undue further testing and increased anxiety. Our upper age limit is 35, as above this age the person is more likely to have problems due to heart disease, rather than issues associated with sudden cardiac death. (We can screen sports people slightly over this age as long as they have no history of heart disease.)

There will be a Child Protection course on Monday 11th February in Loughmacrory. It is necessary for all involved in coaching to complete a course of this type. Please contact the Club’s Secertary, Ciara McCrystal, for more information on how to register. Indoor training will continue for the underage as usual on Thursday night. P1-P4 will be at 6pm-7pm and from 7pm-8pm will be for all P5-P7.

A reminder that the Presentation Night will now take place on the 16th February, and if yet to get tickets, please do so now from any committee member. Club merchandise is available from Rafferty’s Shop, items such as bags, hoodies and jerseys can be purchased along with many other items.

The seniors traveled to play Bredagh in the first game of this year’s Ulster league. Fielding a very experimental team, the lads battled hard but unfortunately were defeated by a point on a 3-4 to 0-12 score line. The league continues on Friday night with the team playing at home versus Slaughtmanus. Throw in is at 8.15pm.

A Foundation Award coaching Course takes place on Saturday 9th February in MUSA, Cookstown. Anyone interested in taking part should contact Cathal Coyle on 07742986251 before Friday.

Congratulations to our quiz team of Cillian McConville, Declan Laverty and Cathal Coyle and solo singer Eleanor Kelly who both qualified for the county final of Scor Sinsear at the weekend.
