Anyone interested in helping out with underage management, particularly U8s/10s/12s , should contact Youth Officer Raymond Donnelly or a committee member now.

The minor boys have training at MUSA this Thursday at 6:15pm. Please remember that all players must have a gum shield for training and matches.

The club is currently running a Last Man Standing Prediction Competition, for Division 1 of the National Football League. The cost of entry is £10 and punters must predict a winner from each round of the National League and they can only use the same team once. The Last Man Standing Sheets are on sale now and can be bought from any committee member or senior player. We would ask that as many people as possible support this fundraiser and all entries must be submitted by 1st February.

There will be a meeting on Wednesday evening at 8pm in the club on developing a ladies sub-committee. All interested are welcome to attend.

Under new ruling from congress all players up to and including minor as of January 1st 2013 will have to wear a mouthguard in all Gaelic football training sessions and matches.

Could anyone who was involved in coaching Youth Football last season, please return any equipment that they still have as the club wish to carry out an audit on all equipment for coaching.

Club membership is now due and there will be an opportunity to pay next Monday evening in the club rooms 6pm-7pm. Adult membership is £35 for the year. All players and committee members should have membership paid by the next meeting or game. Youth membership is £5 for the year, and student membership is £10.

A massive well done to Fr Rocks players Marty Rea, John ‘The Bear in the Square’ Gilmore and Conor O’Hare on collecting Gaelic Life Allstar awards for their efforts for Fr Rocks seniors this season. Each player had a great season and they will hope to cap it off with a trip to Croke Park next month. Well done from everyone at the club.

There will be a meeting for players and parents on Thursday night in the club rooms. Any player who wants to play U14 Football should attend along with a parent. Registration will also take place on the evening.

Good luck to Fr Rocks players Christopher McNicholl and Feargal Devlin who will play for Holy Trinity College Under 16s in the Tyrone Vocational Schools Final on Friday afternoon.

Ballinascreen’s Underage Coaching Programme has commenced at the Backrow

Tuesday 6.30-7.30pm P5/6 Boys Football; Wednesday 6-7pm P3/4 Football; Thursday 6-7pm P7 – Yr 8 Hurling; Friday 7-8pm P3-P6 Hurling; Cubs Club Saturday 10.45-12pm 4yrs-P2 children (£10 for 11 weeks - no weekly payments); Note P7 - U14 football will commence when U13 competition is finished.

U12 Football every Monday in the Backrow 6.45-8pm Cost £1.

The senior team continue to team on Tuesday/Thursday and Sundays, keep posted for times and venues.

The club’s AGM will be held on Monday January 21 at 8pm in the clubrooms.

The club will be holding a night at the races and awards presentation on Friday January 25 at 8pm in the Greenvale Hotel, Cookstown. A light supper will be served on the night, and tickets for the event are priced at £7.50, tickets can be purchased from any member of the Committee. In addition horses for the Night @ The Races are priced at £10, and again can be purchased from any member of the Committee.

Club Membership is now due for the incoming year, and is priced at £20 for Adults and £5 for U16s. Committee members will be calling around the parish over the coming weeks to collect membership.

Ogra Colmcille GFC will hold their AGM on Monday 21st January at 7.30pm in the clubrooms. All existing and anyone interested in joining the club are cordially invited to attend. Senior training commences for the incoming season on Tuesday and Thursday nights beginning this week, 7.30pm at the pitch, any new players are welcome. The club will be hosting its annual prize giving and Night at the Races on Friday 25th January 2013 in the Greenvale Hotel and all club members are welcome. ARDBOE

The lotto numbers for Friday 11th January 2013 were 2, 4, 15, 24.  There was no jackpot winner and match three winners included Winnie O’Neill and Angela McVeigh.  Next weeks jackpot is £6,300.

Parents and players are reminded it is now a requirement for all underage players, up to and including minor players, to wear mouthguards in both training and matches. 

SlimFit is now up and running, the schedule of weekly activities can be viewed on the club website and accessed via the club facebook or twitter page.  The programme has had a massive response and is still open for registration should anyone wish to join.

Tracey Muldoon would like to thank everyone who attended and donated funds to the Southern Area Hospice following a very successful fundraising night in Ardboe Hall on Boxing Night! A special thanks to The Flyin’ Fiddle who entertained the crowds all night. The total amount raised was £1636.32! A fantastic sum of money going to a very worthy cause helping to provide invaluable support and care to people living within the Southern Health Board Area, who are suffering from Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease and AIDS. Thanks to everyone for their Generosity!

EIRE OGs

The Club’s Presentation night will take place this Saturday in the Old Charm Inn at 8pm. This is to recognise the success of all our members, from managers to players. The senior camogs will be presented with their Junior County medals after winning the title back in August. It was the first time in the Club’s history that the senior camogs achieved success at this level. Also being recognised are the 3 County players from our club, Justin Kelly, Sean Óg and Conor Grogan who were awarded their Lory Meagher Cup All-Stars at the end of last year. Sean Óg will also receive recognition for achieving the Lory Meagher Player of the Year 2012.

Áine Tanney, a Post-Primary camog will be honoured with her I.N.TO award after playing in Croke Park. Entry to the presentation will cost £8, food and entertainment provided. There are a limited amount of tickets available, so please get them as soon as possible from any Committee member. The Club would like to congratulate Bríd Ní Dhonnghaile after she won the Club Volunteer of the Year award for County Tyrone. This comes after her sheer dedication to her club and county at all age groups. She will now head to Dublin for an All Ireland dinner in March.

BROCAGH

A disco for Primary School children will be held in the coming weeks, details will follow shortly.

DERRYLAUGHAN

The AGM is on Sunday 20th in the washingbay centre at 6pm. The annual club dinner dance is scheduled for the Greenvale hotel on Friday 1st

February where tickets will be available soon.

The club has booked a Cardiac screening session for Saturday 23rd February. There will be two technicians (at least one will be female) and each screening takes 5-7 minutes. Each person being screened is required to complete a questionnaire which can be completed beforehand or on the day. Those who are U16 will require parental/guardian consent and the screening is open to all between the ages of 14-35 years at a cost of £35 per person. The screening is open to all members of the public as well. Bookings can be made by phoning 07936 383582.

There are no music classes until further notice.

It is mandatory to use a mouthguard in all Gaelic football matches and training sessions for all up to and including minor. If a player refuses to comply he can be sent off and players will not be covered under Player Injury Scheme if not wearing one. Any mouthguard with CE mark on it is sufficient to ensure compliance with the new rule.

Anyone with a key to the clubrooms that isn’t required is asked to hand it back to Bronagh asap.

Coaching education courses: foundation award course in Brackaville on Saturday 19th; MUSA, Cookstown on Saturday Feb 9, Eglish on Saturday Feb 23 and in Augher on Saturday Mar 2; Award one youth/adult course in Stewartstown on Feb 1, 2 and 23. If interested in any contact JJ Coney.

The minors travelled to Dunloy on Sunday for North Antrim 9-a-side Indoor series. They hurled against Ballycastle, Lavey, Kevin Lynchs and Oisín, Glenariff. Report next week. They do it again next Sunday; meet at Clochóg 12:45pm.

Táin League is for seniors and begins on Sat 2nd Feb, 2pm away against Éire Óg, An Charraig Mhór.

Next meeting of An Coiste is Mon 4th Feb,7.30pm in pavilion; excuses must be given to An Rúnaí.

U12, U10 coaching resumes this Thursday 6.30-7.30pm in Hall, U8s,U6s recommences on Tuesday 29th 6.30-7.30pm in the Hall. both £1 for Hall.

Handball is running again, Wed in Hall. Primary School Ages 7-8pm. Secondary 8-9pm. £1 for Hall.

Irish Language evening classes will begin this Monday 14th January 2013. Seamas Galvin will facilitate the intermediate group while Christina Owens will facilitate the beginners group. Classes will begin at 7pm. This service is free of charge, tea and coffee provided during the break.
