Midweek draw for Swifts

ON Tuesday past Rathfriland Swifts travelled to Gilford Crusaders for a midweek fixture.

Rathfriland took the lead early on when good approach play by Ryan Monaghan and Kyle Heslip resulted in a cross in to the box where Miceal Quinn looped a header in to the net to make it 1–0.

There were chances at both ends but the half time score remained with a goal advantage to the visitors.

Early in the second half Gilford took the lead when they broke through from midfield to score low into the net to level the scoring.

Keith Megaw, Philip Johnston and Stevie Parsons had chances but Quinn had a rasping shot headed off the line by a defender. Gilford also had chances before the end but the final score finished 1–1.
