Milliken toasts Smirnoff Cup win

THE weekend competition at the Brown Trout was for the Smirnoff Cup.

Despite windy conditions it was last weeks winner David Milliken (17) made it two in a row again with a great score of 42 points. After scoring 20 points over the front nine David changed up a gear and with the help of birdies at the 10th, 12th and 15th holes added 22 to win by two points from runner-up Jimmy Kelly (8) with 40 points.

Jimmy opened with 21 before adding 19 the highlight being birdies at the 1st and 18th holes.

Two players had returns of 39 points and after the enforcement of the tiebreak William Pyper (13) took the third prize on offer with nines of 18 and 21 to edge Captain Ronnie Milliken (7) with nines of 20 and 19.

Twos were scored by Jimmy Kelly Seamus Doherty and Ronnie Milliken.

An open charity event has been arranged for Friday 3rd September at the Brown Trout Golf Club organised and in support of Cancer Choices Dungannon. Valuable prizes to be won!

As well as individual prizes there will be a fourman team event with all four scores to count.

A ladies nine hole event will be held on the same day.

Entry fee represents good value at 5 per person.

Players unable to enter as a team may play for individual honours.
