Minors progress in Carlin/Duffy Cup

SATURDAY saw the club's minor team progress in the Carlin/Duffy cup with a sizeable victory over Faughanvale. Excellent performances from Liam O'Kane and Martin McCloskey provided the backbone for this victory.

Limavady 4-6 Faughanvale 1-5

Also, a strong second half performance from Aaron McGregor helped Limavady finish eventual winners by ten points. After scoring first, Limavady should have added to their lead, after Thomas MacCauley's low shot went narrowly wide of the goal. Faughanvale claimed the first goal of the game, with a well taken goal past the helpless Rory Devlin. The second half saw Limavady take total charge with four well taken goals. Aaron McGregro grabbed Limavady's first, which was soon to be followed by strikes from Micheal McKeever and Colm McLaughlin. Faughanvale added a few scores from frees at a stage where the game was already decided. The team will now face Foreglen in the quarter-final.
