Missed chances cost us - Quinn

I FELT that coming in at half-time, we should have been another goal up.

Diarmuid (O’Carroll) had missed a good chance and then after the break, we missed another good opportunity when David Magee should have done better.

Taking those would have put us in a very good position. It was really a case of missing our chances. You have to take those against a team like Cliftonville, who are a good side and knocked it about very well when they eventually got going.

When Niall Henderson had to come off, they got a bit more space in there. That was a turning point as he was on top of everything in the midfield area and he had given us a top class performance. He had a niggling injury in training the week before and it was playing up on Saturday so we had to get him out before he tore it.

Ryan Catney certainly started getting on the ball a bit more when Niall went off, as did Barry Johnston. We should have had their heads down by that stage though and we should have been in the ascendancy. Our missed chances cost us a share of the spoils.

The goals we conceded were bad ones too though. We were caught out of position for the first and then, for the second, Kyle (Neill) shouldn’t have done what he did. His attempted backheel to the keeper was way off the mark and they were two bad goals. Kyle had a good game and it was a shame but these things happen in football.

It was a game of two halves really. We were very good in the first half and they were better than us in the second. It was a very pleasing display overall and a hard working performance when we had a few players out.
